The YWCA is seeking nominations of women who work tirelessly to make a difference in their work and communities and deserve to be recognized at the annual event Thursday, May 15. It is the core fundraiser for the YWCA, highlighting the critical work all of the more than 25 YWCA community programs engage in throughout Essex County and the Merrimack Valley. Nominations are accepted from Saturday, Feb. 1, through March 1.

A “Congregational Conversation about Justice” with elected officials, residents, clergy and the public is planned Sunday in Haverhill. A panel includes state Rep. Andy Vargas, Haverhill School Committee member Jill Story, Haverhill City Councilors Katrina Hobbs-Everett and Devan M. Ferreira, Nate Robertson, Dennis Everett and Zan Spaihts-Mohns. It will be hosted by Universalist Unitarian Church Rev. Frank Clarkson and Director of Religious Education Clare Fortune-Lad. Haverhill Public Library Participating in Bruins PJ Drive Through March 14

The Haverhill Public Library is participating in the 18th annual Boston Bruins PJ Drive, collecting new pajamas for low-income and homeless children. The drive seeks pajamas in all sizes, appropriate for all seasons and asks that no family or holiday references be included in donations. The sizes most needed are 18-24 months, 2T, 3T, 5/6—child small, 14/16—child extra-large and adult small, 18/20—child XXL and adult medium. Pajamas may be dropped off from Saturday, Feb. 1 through Friday, March 14, during regular hours, at Haverhill Public Library, 99 Main St., Haverhill.

The book talks about the memorable people Reinstein has met on his travels and how their struggles, toughness, triumphs and humor not only define the very essence of New England, but represent the timeless best of America as well. Reinstein is known for his work as a reporter for “Chronicle,” Boston’s long-running television newsmagazine.
