Tim Coco, President

Tim Coco first entered communications in 1978 as an intern at WHAV AM and FM in Haverhill and within a few months landed a job there in the news department.

Coco would remain in news throughout the 1980s – serving as City Hall reporter for the then-daily Haverhill Gazette, regional reporter for the Daily News of Newburyport and editor of an environmental trade publication based in Manchester, N.H.  He was later tapped to create the communications department for Ogden Corporation, Fairfield, N.J.

He founded COCO+CO., an advertising agency, in 1991. In 2004, coming full circle, Coco acquired the WHAV name and founded Public Media of New England Inc. which today operates 97.9 WHAV, Greater Haverhill’s only public radio station and nonprofit local news service.

Coco is a member of the Northern Essex Community College Foundation and served as member of the Haverhill License Commission for six years, past president of the Trustees of the John Greenleaf Whittier Homestead and as a commissioner of the Essex National Heritage Commission.

He holds an associate degree from Northern Essex Community College and Bachelor of Science in Management from Lesley University School of Management.

William D. Cox Jr., Clerk

William D. Cox Jr., a Haverhill lawyer, was appointed Haverhill city solicitor in 2004 and had served as assistant city solicitor since 1993. Previously, he was an Essex County assistant district attorney, city of Haverhill personnel director/affirmative action officer and director of employment and training programs at Community Action Inc.

He formerly served two terms as a trustee at Northern Essex Community College, appointed in 2011 by Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and reappointed in 2016 by Gov. Charlie Baker; secretary and former board president of Career Resources Corporation (now Waystone Health & Human Services); and member of the Haverhill, American and Massachusetts Bar Associations.

Cox received his Juris Doctor degree from New England School of Law, Boston, and bachelor’s from Bradford College.

Deborah A. Conner, Treasurer

Deborah A. Conner is an entrepreneur and community leader.

She founded Deborah A. Conner, CPA in October of 1999 and the firm is a member of not only  the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce, but also of the Massachusetts Society of CPA’s and the American Institute of CPA’s (AICPA).

Conner became a CPA in 1991. She is active in her community and is the treasurer of the Haverhill Kiwanis Club. She is also an active parishioner at St. John the Baptist Church, where she sits on the finance counsel, serves as a lector, greeter and Eucharistic Minister.
