An industrial research chemist will speak tonight to the realities of artificial intelligence. Bob Spillman will raise awareness of the benefits and risks of AI. The technology has the potential to revolutionize much of the modern world. Spillman will try to shed light on AI so that people can make informed decisions about it and its use. Common Ground Ministries Plans Fundraising Dinner Sept. 21 to Support Needy

Common Ground Ministries of Haverhill is planning its annual fundraiser dinner to help it provide food, clothing and shelter to Haverhill’s needy residents. The dinner will be served Thursday, Sept. 21, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Michael’s Function Hall, 12 Alpha St., Haverhill. There is no cost for the meal, but donations will be accepted at the end of the event. All proceeds go toward food, clothing and shelter for the homeless and the needy in Haverhill.

Nevins Memorial Library Hosts Art Therapy Classes for Those Treated for Breast Cancer

People who are being treated for breast cancer may join a six-week-long art therapy class from now through mid-October. Instructor Lisa Buglione will teach “Painting Your Journey.” Students will create still life and landscape paintings using the skills, techniques and experience they already have. Materials will be provided. Students’ work will be on display at the Nevins Memorial Library until the end of October which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Haverhill Recreation Sponsors Yoga Outside at Winnekenni Castle

Yoga will be practiced in the wild areas near Winnekenni Castle during a 50-minute class. An instructor will teach a class outdoors followed by a self-guided walking tour of the surrounding park and trails. All ages and abilities are welcome at the class on Sunday, Sept. 10, at 3:30 p.m., at the castle, 347 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill. Registration is $25.
