Today, it serves as a recreational park and venue for concerts, plays, workshops, parties and fundraisers. In 1968, the Winnekenni Foundation was founded as a nonprofit organization by Haverhill citizens with the mission to restore Winnekenni Castle which was in ruins. Today, it promotes the arts and sciences for residents of Haverhill and the Merrimack Valley.
