WHAV’s Community Spotlight is turning its microphones to those civic and charitable organizations that make Greater Haverhill a wonderful place to live.
The Haverhill/Merrimack Soroptimist Club is among 10 Soroptimist service clubs in New England, providing resources and opportunities to women and girls for education and training through volunteering.
Locally, it presents the Women’s Opportunity Award to a female head of household pursuing higher education to improve her employment opportunities and promotes “Sister Power” (formerly called “Images”), encouraging participants to become confident, educated women.
