WHAV’s Community Spotlight is turning its microphones to those civic and charitable organizations that make Greater Haverhill a wonderful place to live.

The Haverhill Lions Club, formed in 1944, is noted for, among other things, accepting used eyeglasses that are cleaned and repaired and given to those in need.

Eyeglasses may be dropped off at Haverhill Citizen Center, 10 Welcome St., or Tallman Eye Associates, Merrimack Medical Center, Suite 205, 62 Brown St., Haverhill, MA 01830

Haverhill Lions meet second and fourth Tuesdays, from September to June, at 6:30 p.m., at Maria’s Family Restaurant, 81 Essex St., Haverhill. It is a part of Lions Club International, consisting of 46,000 clubs and 1.4 million members worldwide.
