Haverhill Public Library Offers Games and Movie to Complete 2024

The Haverhill Public Library continues to offer a variety of programs through the year end. A game night, sponsored by the Essex County Gamers MeetUp Group, features a variety of board games, including strategy and abstract games. Participants are welcome to bring their own games. Nevins Memorial Library Hosts ‘Let’s Get Together and GAB’ Social Gathering

Nevins Memorial Library is offering “Let’s Get Together and GAB,” a social group for adults to discuss books, activities and upcoming events. Formerly known as Sociable Seniors, it is a casual, non-traditional book group where participants are welcome to read whatever interests them and share their thoughts. Nevins Memorial Library invites adults in their 20s and 30s to a participate new program, “Board & Brewed,” offering a casual opportunity to enjoy coffee, tea and games. Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite games, while the library will provide beverages. This drop-in event is designed for meeting new people and having fun in a relaxed setting. The Haverhill Council on Aging says seniors may take part in free classes through January. All typically paid activities are included, providing a cost-free way for participants to stay active and engaged. Haverhill Council on Aging Seeks Gifts for Seniors Through Giving Tree Program by Monday

Today is the final day to pick up a tag from the Christmas tree at the Haverhill Council on Aging and deliver gifts to ensure local seniors in nursing homes receive holiday gifts. The annual Giving Tree initiative aims to help nursing home residents who do not have family or visitors during the holidays. Participants can visit the Haverhill Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St., room 4, to pick up a tag from the Christmas tree. Each tag lists suggested gifts appropriate for nursing home residents, such as blankets, towels, toiletries, puzzles or word search books. Pentucket Regional School District Students Plan Winter Concerts, Visual Arts Displays

Students from the Pentucket Regional School District perform in two winter concerts, while works by visual art and video students are displayed during receptions this week. The Pentucket Regional Middle School Winter Concert and Visual Arts Reception takes place Tuesday, Dec. 17, in the school’s dining commons and auditorium. The visual arts reception, featuring student works, runs from 6-7 p.m., followed by performances by middle school ensembles at 7 p.m. A grand finale sing-along of holiday classics concludes the night. Free Hearing Tests, Related Services at Haverhill Council on Aging

At Home Hearing Healthcare is offering free services to help address hearing concerns. Participants may take advantage of complimentary hearing tests, hearing aid cleaning and video ear exams.
