Crystal L. (Ward) Javier, 34, of Haverhill, died at her home on Jan. 11. Raised and educated in Lawrence, Javier was employed as a receptionist at the Sears warehouse. Persia Mendez, 91, of Haverhill, and formerly of the Dominican Republic, died Thursday, Jan. 10. She was the loving wife of the late Gustavo Mendez and is survived by eight children and a large extended family. Richard E. Patterson, 73, of Haverhill, died on Saturday, Jan. 12 at the High Pointe Hospice House, Haverhill. An engineer and home builder, Patterson is survived by his wife of 54 years, Beverly (Forsyth) Patterson, three children, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
