Marion L. ‘Mary Lou’ Chaney, 67, Holy Family Hospital CNA

Marion L. “Mary Lou” Chaney, 67, died Dec. 31 at Penacook Place in Haverhill with her loving family by her side.

Born in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Nellie Chaney. After graduating high school, she attended nursing school where she received her certified nursing assistant certification. Chaney was employed as a certified nursing assistant and worked at Glenn Memorial and Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill. A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she enjoyed cooking and hosting family gatherings. Known for her great sense of humor, everyone knew her as “Ma.” She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Chaney is survived by her children, Damien Chaney and his partner Rosa of Attleboro, Vincent Chaney and Mara Castro of Goffstown, N.H., Jerome Chaney Johnson and his wife Tracy of Haverhill, James Chaney and Sharon Coffin of Bradford, Charles Chaney and Robin DelNegro of Haverhill, Charlesella Chaney of Methuen, 23 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, her brothers, John Cheney of Haverhill, Arthur Lee Cheney of Haverhill, her sister, Willie Mae Chaney of Columbus, Ga., and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, Jan. 5 from 2-5 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 5 p.m.
