Shirley R. Donahue, 92

Shirley R. Donahue, 92, of Atkinson, N.H. died peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 27 at The Mertens House in Woodstock, Vt.. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Donahue. Born in Portland, Maine, on Feb. 4, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Carl K. and Ruth (Morrill) Ross.

A resident of Atkinson, N.H., since 1974, Donahue was a longtime member of the Atkinson Congregational Church, The P.E.O. Sisterhood and dedicated much of her time volunteering at the Kimball Library in Atkinson. She was committed to being the glue that kept her family together when her late husband’s work required them to frequently uproot their home and move. Donahue was a devoted wife and loving mother that will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness.

She is survived by her three children, Cynthia R. Ansardy and husband Rodger of Bridgewater Corners, Vt., Nancy L. Orszulak of Thornton, N.H., and Peter C. Donahue and wife Kathy of Atkinson, N.H. She will also be fondly remembered by seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, John F. Donahue, brother, Dr. Carroll Ross and son-in-law Edward Orszulak.

A private graveside service will be held in Atkinson, N.H. Services are in the care of The Grondin-Carnevale Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill, MA 01830.
