A Saturday night accident at the South Main Street McDonald’s restaurant resulted in one woman being taken to a local hospital, WHAV can confirm.

Haverhill Fire Chief William Laliberty tells WHAV the woman was transported for evaluation purposes and that the restaurant received minor damage after a car crashed into the brick wall near the drive-through window just after 9 p.m. Saturday.

According to the city’s Director of Health and Inspectional Services Richard MacDonald, the building inspector assessed the fast food restaurant’s gas piping system after the accident and the eatery opened for business Sunday as scheduled. Additional repairs are expected this week to rehab what MacDonald described as “limited damage.”
