Kat Everett, the founder of city nonprofit POSE, plans to mark the opening of her new downtown Haverhill venture called COCO Brown with a launch party Wednesday night on Washington Street.
As WHAV exclusively reported in August, Everett’s location at 293 Washington St., serves as the headquarters for POSE, along with being a shared creative and cultural arts space.
“Most people that know me know Mount Washington is where my heart is,” Everett told WHAV. “When you look at Haverhill as a whole, there used to be vibrant spaces for culture and celebration. COCO Brown hopes to endeavor bringing that back.”
As the business gets going this fall, Everett plans to introduce a café, bookstore and a middle school Montessori classroom space, she told WHAV.
Wednesday’s launch party is free, with appetizers from Hobbsies, live entertainment and kid-friendly crafts available. Community members may stop by any time between 3-6 p.m.
