A 36-year-old Methuen motorcyclist is recovering at a Boston hospital after sustaining serious injuries in a Friday morning crash on the city’s stretch of Route 213.

Police said Jeremy Settlemoir was traveling westbound on Pleasant Street on a Suzuki motorcycle when he collided with a livery passenger van driven by Methuen’s Thomas O’Sullivan. Thirty-nine-year-old O’Sullivan was headed eastbound on Pleasant Street and attempted to take a left onto Route 213 when he struck Settlemoir, according to police.

Settlemoir was transported to Lawrence General Hospital and later airlifted to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, where he is recovering from what police describe as life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Methuen Police Department and troopers from the State Police Crime Scene and Collision Analysis teams.
