With polls across the state closed following Tuesday’s primary, the 14th District has made its Democratic choice for the November election: North Andover’s Christina Minicucci.

She won top honors over Methuen’s Lisa Yarid Ferry, who took leave as Haverhill Mayor James J. Fiorentini’s executive assistant to pursue her state rep run. Each candidate took her own home turf, with Minicucci winning Lawrence by just one vote.

In Haverhill, Yarid Ferry trailed behind Minicucci by 21 votes. All told, Minicucci earned the democratic ballot spot in November. She will face off against Republican Ryan Losco of North Andover.

The founder of Bowdoin Capital Group, Minicucci graduated from Bowdoin College with a degree in Spanish and concentration in Latin American studies. She received her MBA from Suffolk University. She’s married with three children.
