A 30-year-old Randolph man was arrested Wednesday afternoon by Haverhill Police, three hours after a reported upper Washington Street home invasion involving a firearm.

Police arrested Andrew Balthazar around 3 p.m. in connection with the incident, according to Detective Capt. Stephen J. Doherty Jr. Police were called to a three-family home at 355 Washington St., near High Street, just before noon, Wednesday, upon receiving a call about a home invasion, he said.

Balthazar was charged with home invasion, armed robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon–a firearm and firearms charges. As is typically the case during an investigation, police did not immediately identify a motive, how many people were present in the home, whether they knew the man, what kind of weapon was displayed or what the intruder was seeking.

This is a developing story.
