No change in your pocket to pay that library fine? No problem! As a goodwill gesture, Haverhill’s Public Library is waiving overdue charges through Dec. 31 for patrons who bring a non-perishable food item or canned good for local food pantries.
The food for fines exchange is only valid on Haverhill Library items and cannot be applied for lost or damaged materials.
Library members will get $1.00 deducted from their late fees, up to $10.00, for each food item donated. No glass containers, expired or already opened items will be accepted.
