‘Tis the season for winter sports! Haverhill High and Whittier Regional Vocational Technical School kick off their winter sports seasons this week, with basketball, gymnastics, ice hockey and other practices taking place.
Starting on Monday, Nov. 27, Hillie Girls and Boys Basketball teams meet with coaches Melissa Tarpy and Souleymane Wane in the main gym for various practices held after school until 7:30 p.m.
Melanie Tarbox’s gymnastics team will practice at the YMCA, 81 Winter St., through Thursday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Haverhill’s ice hockey teams, led by Gary Kane and Joe Roberts, welcome back players at Veteran’s Memorial Rink during practice sessions from 2:30 to 7 p.m.
Whittier Tech’s basketball, wrestling and ice hockey teams also kick off their practices Monday starting at 2:30 p.m. Boys’ Freshman Basketball starts its season on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m.
