Residents of the Bradford and Ward Hill sections of the city are warned to expect high noise levels in their neighborhoods this weekend as the MBTA does track work.
In a Thursday afternoon Facebook post, Haverhill Police advised residents that rock drilling will take place along the MBTA right of way.
The work will be performed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting on Saturday, Oct. 28. It is expected to take two days to complete.
Late last month, the MBTA announced plans to scrap weekend commuter rail service in Haverhill through December for safety upgrades. Shuttle buses are transporting Saturday and Sunday commuters from the Haverhill Line to Oak Grove in Malden. Weekday service runs as scheduled.
