Kenneth N. Prescott, 92, Retired from Western Electric

Kenneth N. Prescott, 92, of Bradford, passed away Thursday, Oct. 5, at Wingate of Haverhill.

He was born in Merrimac, Nov. 12, 1924, son of the late Carl W. and Jennie Mae (Nickerson) Prescott. Prescott attended Haverhill Trade School and, at an early age, served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He later served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was an auto mechanic for many years prior to his final 10 years of employment at Western Electric/AT&T Technologies.

Prescott’s hobbies included bowling, golfing, building remote control model airplanes and boats, carpentry work and small engine repair. He was a kind and generous man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone when needed. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the D.A.V. in Haverhill and attended the First Church of Christ in Bradford.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joanne L. (Hastings) Prescott; daughters, Karen L. and her husband, Paul A. Wilson, and Kammy J. and her husband, Michael Lanza, all of Haverhill; two grandchildren, Andrew P. Wilson of Haverhill and Gerard M. Wilson and his wife, Jennifer, of Chelmsford; three great grandchildren, Cullen, Oliver and Declan; brother Donald Prescott and his wife, Suzanne; sister-in-laws Priscilla Prescott and Peg Prescott; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Carl Prescott and Raymond Prescott, sister, Marvis Ryan and brother-in-law Winn Ryan.

The family thanks the staff at Wingate of Haverhill and Compassus Hospice for the care they provided.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Tuesday, Oct. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m., at H.L. Farmer and Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St. (route 125), Bradford. Funeral service will be Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 10 a.m., in First Church of Christ, 10 Church St. Bradford. Burial with Air Force honors will follow in the Village Cemetery, Chester, N.H.
