Shaun E. Ruth, 42, of Haverhill, passed away unexpectedly at his home Oct. 1.
Born in Haverhill, he was the son of Mary T. (FitzGerald) Ruth and the late Brian E. Ruth, who passed away in June of this year. He attended Haverhill public schools and was a graduate of Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School, specializing in masonry, class of 1993. He also attended North Shore Community College and Northern Essex Community College. He was employed by ARC of Greater Haverhill and Newburyport. Ruth was a certified recreational therapist and a licensed EMT. An avid skier, he worked at Ski Haus. He loved the beach and was a lifeguard at Hampton Beach.
In addition to his mother, Ruth is survived by his niece, Margaret “Maggie” Kloster; nephew, Brady G. Kloster; two aunts, uncles and several cousins; and many beloved friends. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his sister, Tracey M. (Ruth) Kloster.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Friday, Oct. 6, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services begin at 8 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m., at St. James Church, Winter Street, Haverhill. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 114 Perimeter Road, Nashua, NH 03063.
