Alejandro Ramos Gonzalez, 47, of Haverhill, passed away June 16 at Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill, after a long illness surrounded by his family.
Born in Puerto Rico, he was the son of Blanca I. Gonzalez of Haverhill and the late Alejandro Ramos Delapaz. His family moved from New Jersey to Puerto Rico when he was a small child. From there, they moved to Lawrence where he lived for many years before moving to Haverhill five years ago. Gonzalez enjoyed fishing, going to the beach and playing basketball. He was a painter and carpenter for many years, working for various companies throughout the Merrimack Valley area.
Gonzalez is survived by his loving companion of 26 years, Hilda Morales of Haverhill; mother, Blanca I. Gonzalez of Haverhill; son, Alexander Ramos Gonzalez Jr. of Haverhill; two daughters, Sugeiry Ramos and Blanca I. Ramos of Haverhill; three grandchildren, Jaydius Bedward, Liseidy Bedward and Jamias Vasquez; siblings, Yessinia Ramos of Florida; Alexis Ramos of Puerto Rico; Alexandra Ramos of Puerto Rico; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Vinnie Ramos and a nephew.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service Thursday, June 29, 6 p.m., at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill.
