Haverhill’s Bautz to Lead Waltham YMCA

Donny Bautz of Haverhill was recently promoted to executive director of the Waltham YMCA.

Bautz previously served as operations director at the Waltham YMCA, where he developed relationships with the branch’s staff and community members. As executive director, he will promote the Waltham YMCA’s core values: youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, according to a statement.

“It’s a pleasure to welcome Donny back to the Waltham YMCA as executive director,” said James Morton, CEO and president of the YMCA of Greater Boston. “Donny’s dedication and commitment to the YMCA has been evident in each of the many positions he has held in our organization. I’m confident this leadership role will benefit the entire Waltham YMCA community.”

Over the past 14 years, Bautz has served in a variety of positions within multiple branches of the YMCA of Greater Boston. Prior to accepting his new role, Bautz served as the organization’s vice president of Membership and Program Development, where he led directors in membership growth and created program standards in key departments. Bautz has also served as senior program director and associate executive director at multiple branches within the YMCA of Greater Boston.

Bautz holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Springfield College and served as a medical technician in the United States Air Force. Outside the YMCA, Bautz is a volunteer coach for the Haverhill Youth Soccer Club. He lives in Haverhill with his wife and two daughters.
