Align Credit Union Offers First-Time Homebuyer Program

Align Credit Union has been awarded a $110,000 grant by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston to help local first-time homebuyers with down payment and closing costs on a first home.

Qualified applicants are eligible to receive up to $11,000. To qualify, applicants must be first-time homebuyers and meet the low-to-moderate income requirement. Recipients must have a signed purchase and sales agreement to reserve the funds and must complete homebuyer counseling. Funds are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Those interested may call Align at 800-942-9575 or email [email protected].

“Buying a first home is one of the most significant milestones in person’s life,” said Align President and CEO, Ken Del Rossi. “From offering free homebuying workshops and credit building seminars to offering this downpayment assistance program, Align can help make it happen.”

Founded as the Northern Massachusetts Telephone Workers Credit Union (NMTW), the credit union changed its name to Align in 2013. Membership is open to anyone who lives, works or attends school in many communities throughout Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. There are branches in Amesbury, Danvers, Framingham, Haverhill and Lowell.
