The Economic Policy Institute (EPI) says Trump’s budget is a “disaster for public investment.”

Despite promising to spend $1 trillion on infrastructure rebuilding to create jobs, Trump’s budget actually cuts the Department of Transportation budget by 13 percent. And there’s no infrastructure jobs investment in the budget.

EPI says Trump is taking money from the already small non-defense discretionary spending federal budget to pay for military and border security increases.

Actor’s Equity Says Abolishing National Endowment For The Arts Will Cost Jobs

Actor’s Equity Association President Kate Shindle says eliminating the National Endowment For The Arts would hurt the restaurant, hospitality, retail and transportation economies in theater districts nationwide.

Trump wants to eliminate the $149 million arts endowment.

Shindle says the arts endowment money helps to create jobs. The NEA funds arts programs in 16,000 communities and every Congressional district.

Shindle defended the National Endowment For The Arts in a speech Thursday at the National Press Club.

AFL-CIO: $54B Trump Cut to Working Families Is ‘Dangerous And Destructive’

AFL-CIO President Rich Trumka says the Trump budget shortchanges working people by trying to balance the budget on their backs.

Trumka says working people in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin didn’t vote “for a budget that slashes workforce training and fails to invest in our nation’s infrastructure.”

The AFL-CIO says the $54 billion Trump’s budget cuts to programs that benefit working families is dangerous and destructive.

The AFL-CIO Trump budget analysis says, “The budget abandons the future—slashing investments in workers, communities, young people, protecting our environment and building democracy. There are major cuts in job training, education, health programs, the environment, the arts and foreign aid. Research programs in science and medicine are slashed.”
