Penny (McKenney) Norton, 66, Worked at Hale, Steven-Bennett

penny_nortonPenny (McKenney) Norton, 66, of Haverhill, wife of Ronald Norton, passed away Feb. 17, at Wingate Nursing Home in Haverhill surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Sufferen, New York, she was raised by her grandparents, Floyd and Lillian Conklin. She attended Suffern High School and was a graduate of the class of 1968. She was employed at the former Hale Hospital for more than 20 years and the Stevens-Bennett Home for 17 years, both of Haverhill. Norton enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to cook for family get-togethers and enjoyed watching one grandson play baseball and football games at Whittier Regional Vocational technical High School and listening to the other playing guitar.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Scott P. Norton of Haverhill and Kimberly J. (Norton) Zappala; two grandchildren, Ryan Goodreault and Zachery Norton; step great grandchildren, Logan and Grace Robertson, Bailey Zappala; sister, Roseann Rogers of Louisiana; several cousins including Judy Debrino and Jody Zero and David and Irma Martine; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Saturday, Feb. 25, from 3 to 5 p.m., at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services follow at 5 p.m., in the funeral home. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Wingate Nursing Home for the excellent care Penny received.
