Scott J. Gleed, 52, Retired 2015 from Haverhill Police

Recently retired Haverhill Police Sgt. Scott J. Gleed, 52, of Sandown, N.H., husband of the late Karen M. (Cloyd) Gleed, who passed away Oct. 2, passed away Nov. 29, at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Amesbury, he was the son of the late attorney William H. Gleed and Joan M. (Greaney) Gleed of Haverhill. He was raised and educated in Haverhill, graduating from Haverhill High School, class of 1982, and Northern Essex Community College, class of 1997. For more than 30 years from 1987 until 2015, he served the city of Haverhill as a highly respected police officer, attaining the position of sergeant at the time of his retirement. He enjoyed snowmobiling and hunting but his most precious moments were spent with his family.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son Ryan M. Gleed of Haverhill; grandson, Bentley R. Gleed; brother, William H. Gleed III of Haverhill; sister, Pamela Ann Noon of South Hampton, N.H.; nieces and nephews, Pamela Fournier, David Noon, Laura Shute, Harrison R. Gleed and his Godson, William H. Gleed IV. He was predeceased by his brother in law Donald R. Noon.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Friday, Dec. 2, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services begin at 11:30 a.m., at the funeral home Saturday with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 12:30 p.m., at Sacred Hearts Church, 165 South Main St. Bradford. Burial will follow in Walnut Cemetery, Kenoza Street, Haverhill. Donations may be made in his memory to the Haverhill Police Relief Association, 40 Bailey Blvd., Haverhill.
