A Haverhill man, arrested Wednesday by Haverhill police and charged as a fugitive from justice, is scheduled to appear in Haverhill District Court.
Jeffrey Byron, 35, 127 How St., was taken into custody at 10:48 p.m. Wednesday at 143 Grove St. He had outstanding warrants related to larceny under $250, possession of a class A drug, driving under the influence of drugs (second offense) and driving with a revoked license.
In other police activity, Wayne Fontes, 26, of Woburn, was arrested at 11:58 a.m. Wednesday at 24 Atwood Drive and charged with possession of a class A drug. He also had an outstanding warrant related to assault and battery on a family or household member and strangulation or suffocation.
