Haverhill Police are seeking help from the public in identifying a masked man who showed a pistol and robbed a Groveland Street convenience store Sunday afternoon.

Detective Lt. Robert P. Pistone told WHAV the man wore a bandanna across his face, leaving only his eyes visible when he entered Speedway convenience and gas, 491 Groveland St., just after 1:30 p.m., Sunday. He approached a female attendant, placing a pistol on the store counter.

“There’s nothing against you sweetheart,” the suspect was quoted as saying. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash, heading west on foot.

Pistone said the suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately six foot, two inches tall, aged between 25 and 35 years old, dark eyebrows, a clear and deep voice with no accent and with bluish gray eyes. He wore dark pants and a black sweatshirt. A video surveillance system captured the man’s image.
