Historic New England plans to celebrate completion of a major project at its Haverhill collection of New England decorative arts and furnishings.
The group plans public events during the third week in June, and Wednesday, June 22, is “Haverhill Day,” at 151 Essex St., Haverhill. A ceremony begins at 10 a.m., with a brief presentation and update.
“After two years of moving, cleaning, cataloguing, photographing and renovating, we want to reintroduce our newly upgraded home,” a statement said.
The Haverhill facility is home to tens of thousands of objects including furniture, textiles, publications and ephemera. It also serves as headquarters for Historic New England’s curatorial and conservation experts.
Historic New England was founded in 1910 by William Sumner Appleton as the Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities. It owns a variety of historic homes and buildings throughout all six New England states.
