Align Credit Union’s female employees proudly supported Habitat for Humanity’s ninth annual National Women Build Week May 4. They installed flooring and siding and painted a single-family home at 73 Rock St., Lowell. When completed, the house will be home for a former victim of domestic abuse and her son. The home is scheduled to be completed in June and dedicated to the new homeowners on June 21.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell is a non-profit working towards eliminating poverty housing and homelessness by building and rehabbing simple decent affordable homes with the help of the homeowner and volunteers. Qualified families need to apply and be committed to volunteering 450 hours of labor on their homes or other projects. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell builds homes in Bedford, Billerica, Burlington, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Concord, Dracut, Dunstable, Lowell, Reading, Tewksbury, Tyngsboro, Wakefield, Westford and Wilmington.
