Neighborhood Groups Compete During Possible Dreams

Six neighborhood teams have signed up for Team Haverhill’s Possible Dreams 2016 and are eligible to win $300 and volunteer support for a neighborhood project.

Residents from Rocks Village, Mount Washington, the Highlands, Hilldale, Bradford and Ayers Village/Scotland Hill have agreed to participate, according to a statement from Team Haverhill. As WHAV first reported in early February, the civic group is welcoming participation from other neighborhoods. The deadline to register at least three people as team members is Saturday, March 5. Awards will be made to neighborhood teams of three or more people.

“Possible Dreams 2016 is an evening of community engagement and lively discussion about making Haverhill – and each of its neighborhoods – a great place to live. This year’s theme is ‘Building Community through Neighborhoods,’ A statement said.

Team Haverhill uses the “World Café” community discussion model, where residents sit in groups around small round tables. Participants “share stories about positive energy and efforts in Haverhill’s neighborhoods, and also track progress on downtown and city-wide initiatives.”

“Possible Dreams” takes place from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, March 14, at Northern Essex Community College Technology Center. Register online at http://teamhaverhill.org/projects/community/possible-dreams/possible-dreams-2016-registration/.
