Tonight’s WHAV Open Mike Show is bookended with local authors.

E. Philip Brown and Tom Vartabedian discuss their new book, “Armenians of the Merrimack Valley” with host Tim Coco early in the program. Vartabedian is a retired Haverhill Gazette staff writer and Brown is a Haverhill High School history instructor.

Later in the program, sisters Roxanne and Karen Dent, both of Haverhill, talk about their entry, “The Death of Honeysuckle Rose,” within the anthology, “Murder Ink: Thirteen tales of New England Newsroom Crime.” With the guests appearing in WHAV’s Edwin V. Johnson Newsroom, Coco quipped, “I hope listeners and viewers don’t expect a 14th newsroom crime.”

The Open Mike Show begins at 6:30 p.m. The program may be viewed in high definition at www.WHAV.tv and standard definition at HC Media Channel 22 on Comcast in Haverhill. Audio may also be heard at www.WHAV.net, participating cable television stations across the Merrimack Valley, Apple TV’s Golden Oldies group and Tunein (available on Web, smartphone and television apps).
