SBA Director Robert Nelson Speaks Friday in Haverhill

U.S. Small Business Administration Massachusetts District Director Robert H. Nelson will speak at the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce’s (MVCC) annual small business recognition awards breakfast Friday, June 12.

The event, to be held from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at DiBurro’s Function Hall, 887 Boston Road, will recognize area small businesses in categories of, among others, innovative, minority-owned, nonprofit, perseverance and “a special salute to family owned businesses.”

Nelson was appointed district director of SBA’s Massachusetts District Office Nov. 26, 2007. The district office is in Boston with a branch office in Springfield. As district director, Nelson is responsible for the effective delivery of SBA’s financial and business development programs with a mission to counsel, assist and protect the interest of small business statewide in order to maintain and strengthen the economy. He has 23 years of federal service,16 of which with SBA.
