Constance (Terzis) Karambelas, 92

Constance (Terzis) Karambelas, 92, formerly of Haverhill and Newburyport died Sunday, Feb. 22, at Continuing Care of Brooksby Village, Peabody.

She was born in Newburyport, Sept. 27, 1922, daughter of the late Nicholas and Anastasia (Kapurlis) Terzis and was educated in the Newburyport school system. After raising her twin daughters,  Karambelas took up golfing, a sport in which she took great joy and for which she had a natural ability. She could often be found at the Haverhill Country Club enjoying a round with her friends. She was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Newburyport and Holy Apostles Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, Haverhill.

She was the wife of the late George Karambelas who died in April, 2012, and mother of the late Jean Karambelas who died in May, 2012. Her survivors include a daughter, Joan Taylor and her husband Vic of Boothbay, Maine, a sister, Joanna Panas of Newburyport, a brother, Alex Terzis of Newburyport, a granddaughter, Abby Eskin and her husband Zak Smith of Calif., two great grandchildren, Zoe Eskin and Smith Eskin of CA, and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. Funeral services are Friday morning, Feb 27, at 11 in Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 7 Harris St. Newburyport. Burial will be private in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. Contributions in her memory may be made to Tufts Medical Center Nursing Education Fund, 800 Washington St., PO Box 231, Boston, MA 02111.
