Denise L. (Dubois) Wessant, 83, Seamstress and Dress Designer

Denise L. (Dubois) Wessant, 83, of Haverhill, passed at her home early Saturday morning, Feb 7. She was the wife of the late Charles Wessant Jr.

Wessant was born in Saint-Marcelin-de-Cray, France, on August 17, 1931, daughter of the late Jean and Irene (Garnier) Dubois.

A professional seamstress and dress designer, Wessant created many original designer dresses and suits while working for a fashion company in France.. She delighted her only daughter, Minou, by designing her wedding gown, making that Special Day even more memorable than it was.

With her passion for doing for others and making them happy, she also shared with them her fondness of cats, her love of country music, especially, Vince Gill, her passion for all things Elvis, and her dedicated loyalty as an Atlanta Braves fan.

She leaves behind her son, Richard Wessant and wife Linda of Salisbury; her daughter, Minou Wessant of Addison, Texas; her grandson, Michael Wessant of Seabrook, N.H.; her granddaughter, Brandy Perusse and husband Joseph of Amesbury; her three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Emily and Cheyenne, along with many dear friends .

She was predeceased by a son, Patrick and a daughter, Patty.
