‘Miss Haverhill’ Irene A. (Herrick) Frost, 75

Irene A. (Herrick) Frost, 75, of Haverhill, passed peacefully Thursday morning, Jan. 22,  at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Haverhill, March 14, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Robert A. and Eunice M. (Norton) Herrick and was a graduate of Haverhill High School and in 1955 received the “Miss Haverhill” award. For many years Irene worked in Haverhill’s thriving shoe industry.

Her enjoyment in life came from time spent with family and friends,including occasional trips to Foxwoods to play Bingo and to California to visit her sister Lorraine. It was her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who enriched her life with all their various activities and their love.

Frost leaves behind her husband of 33 years, Dana E. Frost of Haverhill; her children, Theresa Elliott of Haverhill, James Elliott of Derry, NH; Jane Smith and husband Norman of Las Vegas, NV; Judy Bourgelais and husband Pat of Merrimac; Norman Hebert and wife Tiny of Brentwood, N.H., and Paula Carlson of Haverhill; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Lorraine Post of Calif., two brothers, Robert Herrick Jr. of AZ and Kenneth Herrick of Salisbury, along with several generations of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Allen Herrick.

Visiting hours at the Paul C. Rogers Family-Carnevale Funeral Home will be Saturday, Jan. 24, from 4 to 6 p.m. immediately followed by services at the funeral home at 6 p.m. Interment will be private for the family.
