Police: Man Present Where Heroin was Stored

A Haverhill man is due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court on various charges as the result of a traffic stop late Friday night.

Haverhill Police report 29-year-old Jose L. Sanchez of Haverhill was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle after license suspension. He was also taken into custody on outstanding warrants for being present where heroin is kept, assault and battery, assault and battery on a police officer, disturbing the peace, threats and assault. The arrest occurred at 10:40 p.m., Friday, at 22 Webster St.

In other police news, three local people are facing various charges after their arrests Friday in the lower Acre section. Haverhill Police report 40-year-old Jennifer Collette of Haverhill was arrested on outstanding warrants charging her with credit card fraud, operating a motor vehicle after license suspension and a motor vehicle equipment violation. Also arrested on an outstanding warrant, 23-year-old Jasmine Castro of Haverhill was charged with shoplifting. A third person, 27-year-old Sean Haslett of Haverhill, was arrested on a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. The arrests took place shortly after 11 a.m., Friday, at 7 Rose Street.

A Haverhill man is due to be arraigned in court on charges stemming from a disturbance early Sunday morning on Locke Street, in the downtown industrial area. Haverhill Police report 50-year-old Adam Matosic of Haverhill was arrested at 2:30 a.m., Sunday, at 40 Locke Street. He is charged with disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.
