A Winter Street apartment building with 30 units had to be evacuated Wednesday after police discovered the manufacture of methamphetamines. The process of manufacturing methamphetamines can produce gas that is toxic and flammable, police said.
Haverhilll Police report 19-year-old Russell Colon III and 23-year-old Scott Lampron Jr., both of Haverhill, were arrested at 2 p.m., Wednesday, at 127 Winter St., Apt. 3. Each are charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of LSD with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and cultivation of marijuana. They are due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court.
Members of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Methamphetamine Unit arrived and assisted Haverhill narcotics detectives in dismantling the manufacturing process. The Haverhill Fire Department stood by as a precaution.
Two area residents are also due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court on drug-related charges following their arrests Wednesday evening at the parking lot of the Target store on Computer Drive, off route 97. Haverhill Police report 41-year-old Sharon Robertson of Seabrook, N.H. and 32-year-old Jennifer Hunter of Amesbury were taken into custody shortly before 6:30 p.m., Wednesday. Each is charged with possession of a class A substance. Robertson faces an additional charge of possession of a class B substance.
