Richard A. George, 78, and a longtime resident of Haverhill, passed away Dec. 4, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Haverhill on March 20, 1936, the son of the late John and Rosalia George. Richard worked as a fork lift driver for Merrimac Shoe Shop.
George is survived by his sister, Elsie Flynn and his brothers, Louis George of Sanford, Maine, and Alex George of Long Island, N.Y. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, nieces and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Henry S. George and John J. George.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend George’s Life Celebration Monday, Dec. 8, from 9 to 10:15 a.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, MA 01832. Funeral services will follow the Life Celebration at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Haverhill. In-Lieu of flowers, donations in George’s memory are requested to the charity of one’s choice.
