Updated: Police Found Child Porn After Tracing Internet Address

A Haverhill District Court judge has ordered a local woman facing child pornography charges held on $5,000 cash bail during her arraignment Thursday morning.

The Essex County District Attorney’s office had asked 30-year-old Faith A. Lynch, 291 Farrwood Drive, Haverhill, be held on $20,000 bail plus conditions. Judge Stephen S. Abany agreed Lynch must have no access to the Internet and no contacts with children under 16. State Police assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit began an investigation Oct. 15 after finding two images and a video on a peer-to-peer Internet site.

“In the course of their investigation, they found one (of the images) connected to an IP address and subpoenaed records from Comcast,” said Carrie Monahan, spokesperson for District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett. She said police traced the IP address to Lynch’s computer and then sought, received and executed a search warrant at Lynch’s home. “Police looked for two images and a video they had seen. They located these files on her computer,” she said.

“Three images showed young girls who were identified (as being under age) by law enforcement at the time they were taken,” said Monahan. The victims have not been identified.

Haverhill Police assisted Massachusetts State Police investigators. Lynch was charged Wednesday night with two counts of possession of child pornography, and one count of distribution of child pornography. She is due back in court December 10 for a status hearing.
