Plaistow’s Different Take on N.H. Election

If it was up to Plaistow, there were have been a major upset during state elections last night.

Voters there selected Republican Walt Havenstein over Democratic incumbent Maggie Hasson for governor and Republican Scott P. Brown over Jeanne Shaheen. As it turns out, most of the rest of New Hampshire disagreed.

Plaistow voters cast 1,568 ballots for Havenstein and 1,145 for Hasson and 1,702 for Brown versus 1,029 for Shaheen.

The state, however, agreed with Plaistow’s choice for the U.S. House of Representatives. Residents there voted to oust Democrat Carol Shea-Porter in favor of Frank C. Guinta.

Exeter Democrat Maureen E. (Foley) Barrows, sister of prominent Haverhillite Joan L. (Foley) Cranton, was unsuccessful in her bid for county treasurer. Barrows is a former Rockingham County commissioner.
