Friends of Travis Yell, 20, have turned his Facebook page into an online memorial. The Haverhill man, who graduated from Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School, died Monday from injuries after being struck by a car in Waltham Saturday night.

Yell was walking in the area of Bentley University, near 385 Beaver St., Waltham, at about 11:45 p.m., Saturday night, when he was struck in the westbound lane. Bentley University Police, Waltham Police, Waltham Fire and Cataldo EMS were on scene and treated the victim. He was transported to a Boston area hospital, according to police.

“'I’ll never forget the times where we got to workout together and actually getting to know the real you instead of seeing you at parties. You’re an angel now and I hope you fly high,” wrote on friend on Facebook. Another said, “Rest in peace Travis. U were always an outgoing and kind person and always had a smile on your face. U will be missed man.”

Yell attended Missouri Baptist University, St. Louis, Mo., and previously Northern Essex Community College.

As of press time, no charges were filed against the driver. The accident is still under investigation by the Waltham Police Reconstruction Team, State Police Reconstruction Team and Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.
