Greater Haverhill may have escaped the worst of Wednesday’s heavy rainstorm during the afternoon and evening commutes, but not without some minor impacts.
Haverhill Police tell WHAV power lines were brought down by a fallen tree during the storm at Arlington and Richmond Streets. A police detail remained on the scene as crews from National Grid worked to restore power to the area. The heaviest rain fell west of the city beyond Lowell. Only a handful of customers in Middlesex County remained without power as of 7 a.m., this morning.
