Paul D. Whitney, 74

Paul D. Whitney, 74, of Haverhill, formerly of Malden and Everett, passed away Sunday, August 2, at the Holy Family at Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill after a lengthy illness.

Born in Everett, he was the son of the late, Paul D. and Mabel M. (Upton) Whitney. He attended Everett public schools and was a graduate of Everett High School, class of 1959. A Navy Veteran, he served during peacetime from 1959 until being honorably discharged in 1960.

He leaves his loving daughter, Donna D’Amato and her husband, Anthony, of Georgetown, four cherished grandchildren, Marissa, Brianna, Mikaela, and Anthony D’Amato Jr. He was predeceased by his brothers, John and Edward Doyle, and sister, Muriel Doyle.

Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte. 125) Haverhill. Funeral services will begin on Thursday morning at 9:00 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Lincoln Ave. Haverhill. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Linwood Cemetery, Mill St. Haverhill. Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Veterans Northeast outreach Center, 65 Cedar St. Haverhill, MA 01830.
