A group of workers for the Market Basket supermarket chain have again asked company leaders to fully reinstate ousted company President and CEO Arthur T. Demoulas.
In a letter delivered to the company’s Tewksbury headquarters, the group is asking the co-executives, Felicia Thornton and Jim Gooch, installed last month by the company’s board of directors for a decision by Thursday evening. The co-executives have reportedly said they do not have the authority to reinstate Arthur T. Demoulas and the request has been communicated to the Board of Directors.
A spokesman for the Market Basket workers disputes allegations of inappropriate and disrespectful behavior made in a company statement. The workers claim they have waited a week for an answer to their request.
