Natalie H. (Freeman) Codin, 86, of Haverhill passed away Tuesday, July 8 at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill.
She was born in Beverly, MA on Oct. 18, 1927, daughter of the late Charles W. and Mabel M. (Simmonds) Freeman. Natalie was a graduate of Beverly High School and the Beverly Trade School Printing Dept. She was a homemaker for a number of years for raising her own family as well as several foster children. Natalie was employed at the Haverhill Water Dept. retiring in 1988 and also worked part-time at Leith’s Flower Shop. She was a former member of the Ward Hill Congregational Church and enjoyed square dancing, flower gardening, knitting, and many other handcraft activities.
Natalie was the wife of the late Elvin Bowe, Robert Fowler and Dr. Kenneth Codin. Her survivors include her son John L. Bowe of Bradford; brother Edward Freeman of Wenham, MA; sister Jean M. Maidment of Florence, MA, as well as several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the calling hours at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St. (Rte. 125) Bradford on Sunday, July 13 from 3-5 p.m. funeral services will follow at the funeral home. Interment will be private. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Belleville Congregational Church, 300 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950.
