Development of a Haverhill Family Trail Guide, World Cup Viewing Events, a statue of Haverhill-born poet John Greenleaf Whittier, an art museum, Christmas Market and many other ideas get hashed out and refined by the public Monday night during Team Haverhill’s Possible Dreams.
If the group’s past annual visioning sessions are any example, ideas could go on to bring transformation across the city.
“This lively community conversation event gives attendees an opportunity to meet new people, discover more that Haverhill has to offer and shape the future of the community by sharing and incubating new ideas. The conversations will focus on ideas the community has submitted in advance. We will discuss how we can make them happen together and shape the future of our city,” says Team Haverhill President Kevin Burke.
Other ideas to be visited include Reading Buddies, Financial Literacy Program, Haverhill Sister Localities, Haverhill 250th Call for Participation, Haverhill Community Playground, Bradford Square Beautification, Career Launch Basecamp and Edible Perennial Nursery.
Participants will hear brief summaries of ideas and be able to choose which ideas they wish to learn more about, ask questions, offer suggestions and otherwise shape. They may also take part in voting for the Most Creative, Most Doable and Biggest Impact ideas.
The free Possible Dreams takes place Monday, March 9, from 7-9 p.m., at Northern Essex Community College, Hartleb Technology Center, 100 Elliott St., Haverhill. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for refreshments and seating. Walk-ins are welcome but registration is encouraged online here.
Ideas launched at past Possible Dreams events include Clement Farm Disc Golf Course, revitalizing the Haverhill Farmers Market, Little Free Art Galleries, River Ruckus Festival, Haverhill Restaurant Week and more.
