The public has opportunities to shape policy this week as various Haverhill boards meet. In the interest of transparency in government, WHAV provides this list of upcoming meetings every week on air and online.
Plans to demolish an existing single-family home on Margin Street in Haverhill and replace it with a three-family residence will be heard Thursday night by the Haverhill Conservation Commission.
As WHAV reported, developer Francis J. Bevilacqua III last month was granted a special permit by the City Council to replace, what was described as, a vacant, dilapidated house at 16 Margin St. with three, side-by-side attached three-bedroom condominiums. Bevilacqua gave councilors an overview.
“The building I’m proposing is two stories in a district that permits 35 feet and three and half stories. There’d be three attached units, each 26 feet wide. Each is a ground floor, second floor of approximately 1,768 square feet. Each unit is three bedrooms, two and a half baths and an attached a single-car garage and rear slider opening onto a private patio. The three units will be organized as a condominium and sold individually,” Bevilacqua explained.
As the property backs up to the Merrimack River, Conservation Commissioners will review a notice of intent for the project.
Members will also hear notices of intent from Sterling Golf Management for construction of a golf clubhouse, cart barn and paved parking lot for golf course operations at 890 N. Broadway, and Haven Operations, to construct an accessory dwelling unit at 3 Madison St.
Commissioners will make a determination whether a request by Angel Garcia, 889 Amesbury Road, to undertake a septic system upgrade requires the board’s review. They will also consider enforcement orders against Islamic Society of Greater Haverhill, for 36 Amesbury Road; Cedars Realty Trust, for 21 Parkridge Road; Angel Velez for 56 Grandview Road; and Sun Run, for 56 Grandview Road.
