The 42-apartment Essex Street Lofts in downtown Haverhill describes leasing as “strong” following its grand opening.

The seven-story Queen Anne building at 86 Essex St. also offers 2,000 square feet of first-floor commercial space. Haverhill city councilors gave their permit approval for the project in 2021—one of the last former factory buildings to be rehabilitated.

“Essex St. Lofts is more than just a place to live—it’s a lifestyle choice,” said a spokesperson for Boston-based Rise Development. “We’re thrilled with the enthusiastic reception from residents and the community. This project reflects what’s possible when creativity, function and location come together.”

The developer said highlights include an “expansive roof deck with views of the city,” pet wash station, modern fitness center and coworking spaces for remote work. There are also a range of floor plans for studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments. Interior finishes include quartz countertops, tile backsplashes, stainless steel appliances and open floor plans with high ceilings and large windows.
