Kids Papermaking Classes at Museum of Printing July and August

Children from pre-school to high school can try their hand at papermaking at a series of workshops offered by Haverhill’s Museum of Printing.

Mindy Mitrano, who operates Mindy Paper Art Studio in Haverhill, will be on hand on six Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m. The dates are July 8, 15 22, and 29 and Aug. 5 and 12 at the Museum of Printing, 15 Thornton Ave., Haverhill.

“Participants are welcome to come to more than one session,” Mitrano said. “I will adjust the activity for the ages of the kids.”

Children are encouraged to bring small amounts of found scrap paper from home to create new sheets as well as a small amounts of natural materials or interesting found flat objects like leaves and ribbon. Scrap paper will be wet and blended and then molded to create new sheets of paper.

The cost is $5 per person and each participant will bring home a paper making kit. Registration takes place at MindyPaper.com.
